The Branford Buccaneers will face off against the Crystal River Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
Branford is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Union County 13-3 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Mallory Blue was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Blue was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Cloey Criggall was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesse Frierson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Branford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union County only posted an OBP of .345.
Meanwhile, while Crystal River put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Williston. Crystal River had just enough and edged out Williston 1-0.
Not much got past Violet Flynn, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Williston off the board. Flynn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
Branford pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crystal River, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Branford's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. Branford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Crystal River, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Branford continue to outrun the ball?
