Basketball Recap: Chatfield Comes Up Short

Chatfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 76-62 to the Pine Island Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gophers of the 67-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Chatfield's record is now 4-3. As for Pine Island, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Chatfield will be home for the holidays to greet Rushford-Peterson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rushford-Peterson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Chatfield likes a good challenge. Pine Island will take on Kasson-Mantorville in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kasson-Mantorville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
