Basketball Recap: Wooster Generals vs. Lexington Minutemen
Wooster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 57-41 fall against the Lexington Minutemen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-46 back in December of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lexington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makaree Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Chapman has become a key player for Lexington: the team is 6-3 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-7 otherwise. Tatum Stover was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and eight boards.
Wooster's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Lexington, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10.
Looking ahead, Wooster will welcome Dover at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dover will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Wooster surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lexington, they will head out to square off against New Philadelphia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
