Recap: Greene Trojans vs. Deposit-Hancock
The third road contest was the charm for the Greene Trojans, as they earned their first road win of the season. They skirted past Deposit-Hancock 55-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Greene also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Deposit-Hancock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Fortunato, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Fortunato is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Gonzalez, who scored 14 points along with nine assists.
Greene's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Deposit-Hancock, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greene will take on Afton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Afton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Deposit-Hancock, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Unatego at 7:15 p.m.
