Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

If Faith Baptist Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 75-47 takedown of Trinity Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Faith Baptist Christian Academy lost, don't look at Joseph Fleming. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points along with six boards and four steals. The matchup was Fleming's third in a row with at least 16 points. Grant Frazier was another key player, putting up 17 points and five rebounds.

Coastal HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Jenkins out in front who shot 50% from the field on his way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That's the most points Jenkins has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alijah McField, who went 8-for-13 en route to 21 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Faith Baptist Christian Academy fell to 4-1. As for Coastal HomeSchool, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Faith Baptist Christian Academy will take on Snook Christian Academy in a tournament on Thursday. As for Coastal HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Memorial Day at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricanes will be up against the Matadors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
