Basketball Recap: Ellicott Takes a Loss

Ellicott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 53-34 to the La Junta Tigers. The Thunderhawks were down 44-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Monze Alvidrez was nothing short of spectacular for La Junta: he went 9-for-17 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Remick, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Ellicott's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for La Junta, their record is now 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellicott will challenge Manitou Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Junta, they will square off against Florence at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
