Softball Recap: Strom Thurmond Takes a Loss

Strom Thurmond was the 8-1 winner over Ninety Six when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Grant made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lawsyn Lowe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Strom Thurmond's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Ninety Six, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strom Thurmond will head out to take on Pelion at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ninety Six, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mid-Carolina at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
