Basketball Recap: Foothill Falls Despite Big Games from Derrick Sanchez and Fernando Sarabia

Foothill lost against Chavez back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Foothill Trojans fell 56-48 to the Chavez Titans. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fernando Sarabia and Derrick Sanchez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sarabia went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points, while Sanchez dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovani Cruz, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Foothill will host Mira Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chavez, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-24 defeat against Garces Memorial on the 4th.
