Basketball Recap: Pacific Grove Takes a Loss

Pacific Grove easily dispatched Salinas last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pacific Grove Breakers fell just short of the Jefferson Grizzlies by a score of 46-43 on Tuesday. The Breakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Despite the defeat, Pacific Grove saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andrew Nimri posted 15 points and five boards. Nimri's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Valencia, who scored nine points and three steals.

Pacific Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Jefferson, the win also got them back to even at 12-12.

As of now, neither Pacific Grove nor Jefferson have any future games scheduled.
