Wellington proved they can win big last Friday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lockney Longhorns 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Skyrockets, who have now won four games in a row.

Wellington's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lockney, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wellington will challenge rival Clarendon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lockney is set to square off against their familiar foe Memphis at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
