Basketball Recap: Kylen Larson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Academy over Mid-Missouri Homeschool

Heritage Academy lost against Mid-Missouri HomeSchool back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Heritage Academy Warrior took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks. The Warrior have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylen Larson, who posted 17 points. Larson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Nick Kespohl, who had 12 points.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Heritage Academy will take on Ozarks Christian Academy in a tournament on Saturday. Ozarks Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Heritage Academy likes a good challenge. Mid-Missouri HomeSchool has already played their next contest (against Sunnydale Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
