Baseball Game Preview: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Whiteland Warriors

For the second straight game, Mooresville will face off against Whiteland. The Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

While Mooresville's victory against Whiteland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 10-9. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Hudson DeVaughan looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Denny, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Mooresville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Caden Lee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
