St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) tumbles as number of unbeaten teams continue to dwindle.

St. Thomas Aquinas dropped from the ranks of unbeaten teams over the weekend, causing a shakeup in the Top 5 of the Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Aquinas, ranked No. 4 entering the weekend, lost 6-3 to Deerfield Beach. The Raiders were nearly knocked off by Hallandale in their previous game, so the outcome was not completely surprising.

Aquinas closes its regular season schedule at the end of the month with a marquee game against Flanagan that could allow it to rise back up toward the Top 10.

St. Edward jumps up to No. 20 following an impressive 47-28 home victory against previously unbeaten Mainland. With games against Archbishop Moeller and St. Ignatius remaining, as well as the gauntlet of Ohio's Division I playoff bracket, the Cleveland-area power could rise significantly higher.

In Georgia, Colquitt County notched a solid 54-17 victory over Lee County, which entered the game unbeaten. It moves to No. 6 and is making a bid to rise even higher.
