Baseball Recap: Bradford Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mountain Island Charter

Bradford Prep had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it seven. They fell 8-5 to the Mountain Island Charter Raptors. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Bears' highest-scoring contest to date.

Pierce Horsley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shorts, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Mountain Island Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Mountain Island Charter's side, Tucker Belcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Belcher was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Berger was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Hansen, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Bradford Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will head out on the road to challenge Pine Lake Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
