Preview: Warren Bears vs. Servite Friars

Warren has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Servite Friars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Warren beat La Salle 48-43. That looming 48-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Warren yet this season.

Warren's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luis Perez, who scored nine points, and Ahmed Bah, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. Jorge Mota was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Meanwhile, Servite waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Mountain View at home to the tune of 103-39. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 62-8.

It was another big night for Rj Chastang, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Chastang set a new season high mark in steals with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Schutt, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

The win got Warren back to even at 3-3. As for Servite, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Warren have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Servite struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 37.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
