Basketball Recap: Bountiful Skates Past Box Elder with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bountiful's strategy against Box Elder on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bountiful RedHawks blew the Box Elder Bees out of the water with a 74-44 final score. Given the RedHawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Bees are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bountiful's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Crane led the charge by going 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Those 19 points gave Crane a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davey Howe, who went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Mayson Jeppsen and Ryan Jenson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jeppsen went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds, while Jenson posted 13 points and five boards.

Bountiful has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Box Elder, they moved to 4-13 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Bountiful wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-56 win against Viewmont on the 29th. As for Box Elder, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-49 loss against Woods Cross on the 29th.
