Basketball Game Preview: Zionsville Eagles vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs

The Zionsville Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Brownsburg Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Zionsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Zionsville didn't have quite enough to beat Warren Central and fell 50-47.

Zionsville might have lost, but man, Maguire Mitchell was a machine: he went 12 of 21 en route to 32 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Mitchell has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Tielker, who posted nine points and five assists.

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Brownsburg didn't have enough. They fell just short of Carmel by a score of 37-34 on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Zionsville will need focus on slowing down Devon Craig, one of several Brownsburg players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points and five boards. Kaden Gentrup also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Brownsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Zionsville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Zionsville strolled past Brownsburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 56-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Zionsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
