Baseball Recap: Del Norte Extends Winning Streak to Three

Del Norte entered their tilt with San Pasqual on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Golden Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 on Tuesday.

Grey Gusich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Del Norte let Elliot Kim and Cole Hoffman run wild. Kim went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Hoffman went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI Kim has posted since back in March of 2024.

Del Norte pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for San Pasqual, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Del Norte beat San Pasqual by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.
