Basketball Recap: Eliana Blossom and Misty Kate Smith Secure Win for Bayside Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mary G. Montgomery, Bayside Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Satsuma Gators. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-39 back in November.

Leading Bayside Academy to victory were Misty Kate Smith and Eliana Blossom. Smith went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and four steals, while Blossom went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Blossom is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mary Campbell Elmore, who posted five points.

Bayside Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Satsuma, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Bayside Academy will take on Providence Christian in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bayside Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Satsuma and Cottage Hill Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Cottage Hill Christian Academy: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Satsuma has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
