Valliant had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Smithville Braves with a sharp  12-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Davion Hankins was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Jakobi Newsome, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
Valliant pushed their record up to 7-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Smithville, their loss  ended  a  seven-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 0-2.
 Looking ahead, Valliant will head out to  challenge Asher  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Smithville, they will host Boswell  at 1:15  p.m.  on Friday.
