While Mellen's victory against Solon Springs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Granite Diggers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2. The Granite Diggers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mellen was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-15, 24-26, 25-16, 15-7.

Bella Mesko-Jokinen paced Mellen's offense, picking up 20 kills. Mesko-Jokinen got some help from Gracie Peters and her 29 assists. Brooke Neumann controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mellen's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Solon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Mellen has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Boyceville on the 13th. Solon Springs has also already played their next match (against Gilman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
