Football Recap: Cypress Lake Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cypress Lake had won two straight games and Nolan McKinnon did his part to make it three on Friday. The Panthers came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-8 W against the Riverdale Raiders with plenty of help from McKinnon, who picked up 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 58 yards.

Despite the loss, Riverdale still got an impressive performance from Lovensky Blanchard, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Blanchard's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 104 rushing yards. Josiah Bataille helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards.

Cypress Lake now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Riverdale, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Cypress Lake will square off against Estero at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 34.2 points per game this season. As for Riverdale, they will take on East Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
