Softball Recap: Newark Catholic Find Success

Newark Catholic proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 16) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Ridgewood Generals 3-2.

Newark Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aly Rothweiler (2026), who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Newark Catholic's record now sits at 8-13. As for Ridgewood, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-9-1.

Coming up, Newark Catholic will head out to challenge Newark at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Green Wave are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ridgewood, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Shadyside at 5:00 p.m.
