Soccer Recap: Santiago Falls Short of Norco in the Playoffs

Santiago and Norco squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Santiago had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Norco Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Cougars are ranked 44th).

Santiago has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Norco, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Santiago does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norco, they will challenge Calabasas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
