Softball Recap: Vicksburg Takes a Loss

If Vicksburg was feeling good fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Ridgeland last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators fell just short of the Loyd Star Hornets by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-9 back in February.

Vicksburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lili Kistler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kistler also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Loyd Star, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Vicksburg will face off against Columbus at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Loyd Star, they will take on Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
