Basketball Recap: Legacy Lightning vs. Mountain Range Mustangs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-21 win over the Mountain Range Mustangs. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Mustangs are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Olivia Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Her evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Riley Reichenberg, who went 7 of 8 en route to 15 points.
Legacy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Range only racked up two assists.

After both having extra time off, Legacy and Arvada West will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Arvada West will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Legacy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain Range, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-25 victory against Adams City on the 20th.
