Basketball Game Preview: Brook Hill Guard vs. Hyde Park Panthers

Brook Hill has won five straight games at home, while Hyde Park has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Brook Hill Guard will welcome the Hyde Park Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Brook Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.

Brook Hill is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Brook Hill blew Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep out of the water with a 74-4 final score. The Guard have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Brook Hill can attribute much of their success to Savannah Onley, who went 9 for 12 on her way to 18 points and four steals, and Zuzanna Majchrzak, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. That's the most points Onley has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Remy Tonroy, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Brook Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Hyde Park didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Stephen's Episcopal on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Spartans are ranked 647th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brook Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Hyde Park, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.
