Football Recap: Hilliard Darby Panthers vs. Marysville Monarchs
Hilliard Darby had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it six. They came up short against the Marysville Monarchs, falling 35-14. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 31-25 to the Monarchs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Jonah Marsh threw for 118 yards and one TD. Cedric Holman Jr was his top target, picking up 108 receiving yards. On the ground, Romel Turner rushed for 106 yards.
As for Marysville, the victory got them back to even at 5-5. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.
JJ Henry produced another solid effort rushing for 127 yards and three scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Carper, who rushed for 93 yards on only 12 carries.
Hilliard Darby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marysville, they will challenge Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.7 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
