Basketball Recap: Bennett Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bennett can now relate to. They lost 49-26 to the Skyview Wolverines on Friday. The Tigers were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Skyview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Lucero, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. Lucero is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Estrada, who scored 11 points and three steals.

Bennett's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Skyview, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Bennett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-44 loss against Delta on the 8th.
