Basketball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the New Kent Trojans, falling 63-41. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 53-32 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Loss or not, York got some senior leadership from Sarah Witt and Sanaa White. Witt posted 12 points along with five steals and three blocks, while White had 12 points.

Even though they lost, York smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for New Kent, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

York didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-27 loss against Warhill on the 12th. As for New Kent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-49 defeat against Tabb on the 12th.
