Basketball Recap: Oasis Skates Past Mariner with Ease

Oasis came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they left with even more momentum. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 54-25 blowout they got against the Mariner Tritons. For the Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 55-12 victory the Tritons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Oasis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brynn Stambaugh out in front who posted 21 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Stambaugh has scored at least a third of Oasis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellye Henkle, who scored 17 points along with six boards and four steals.

Oasis is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Mariner, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Oasis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-40 victory against East Lee County on the 7th. As for Mariner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-11 defeat against Estero on the 8th.
