Basketball Recap: Hancock County Comes Up Short

Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Meade County Green Waves 63-28. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Green Waves are ranked 43rd).

Peyton Bradley was her usual excellent self, to rack up 26 points and five steals for Meade County. The matchup was Bradley's ninth in a row with at least 21 points. Karla Thornsberry was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took for 10 points.

Hancock County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Meade County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Hancock County nor Meade County have any future games scheduled.
