Volleyball Recap: Western Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Pacifica Christian on Friday, Western Christian came back down to earth. The Fighting Lancers fell just short of the Southlands Christian Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Fighting Lancers have let down their home crowd.

Western Christian came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 32-30, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Western Christian lost, don't look at Gwenyth Baumer. Despite the final result, she had 30 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Baumer is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Defoort, who had ten digs and one assist.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 22-6. As for Southlands Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Western Christian has already played their next matchup (against Loma Linda Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Southlands Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
