Basketball Recap: Hilltop Christian Takes a Loss

Hilltop Christian won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers and fell 62-35. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for Hilltop Christian, who until this match were averaging 27.73 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Hilltop Christian lost, don't look at Meleah Bell. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Bell, who had six points.

Hilltop Christian moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Wilson Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Greenville Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Wilson Christian Academy will head out to face Greenville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hilltop Christian will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
