Basketball Recap: East Ridge Drops Season-High Score on First Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Ridge). They really took it to the First Academy Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 90-48 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Joshua Joehill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 11 en route to 18 points. Julian Estevaz was another key player, putting up nine points and six assists.

East Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the loss, First Academy still got an impressive performance from Aidan Jezowski, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Grayden Anderson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

East Ridge's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15. As for First Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

East Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 92-58 loss against Lake Minneola on the 24th. First Academy has also already played their next contest, a 51-25 defeat against Real Life Christian Academy on the 24th.
