Baseball Recap: Apple Springs Comes Up Short

Apple Springs lost against Chester on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles lost 8-1 to the Yellowjackets. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zeth Dugat spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Apple Springs now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Chester, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-1 record this season.

Apple Springs will square off against Zavalla at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Apple Springs' pitchers better be ready for this one: Zavalla has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
