Softball Recap: Viewmont Drops Highest Score of Season Against Milford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viewmont). Everything went their way against the Milford Tigers on Saturday as the Viewmont Vikings made off with a 13-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

London Dickerson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karli Dickerson, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricki Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Milford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Viewmont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 win against Page on the 15th. As for Milford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-0 defeat against Morgan on the 15th.
