Volleyball Recap: Millbrook Extends Winning Streak to Five

Millbrook took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Riverside-Durham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Millbrook narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Riverside-Durham 3-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Millbrook had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 24-26, 25-14, 25-19, 15-12.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Millbrook, bringing their record up to 5-1. As for Riverside-Durham, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Millbrook and Riverside-Durham will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Millbrook sees the court they'll take on Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on April 9. As for Riverside-Durham, their break will end when they face Eno River Academy at 5:15 p.m. on April 8.
