After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Coalfield brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jellico Blue Devils a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. With that victory, the Yellow Jackets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Addy Carson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

Looking ahead, Coalfield will challenge Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jellico, they will head out on the road to square off against Scott at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.6 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
