Basketball Recap: Clearwater Comes Up Short

Clearwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt an 89-34 loss at the hands of the Circle Thunderbirds. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 117th).

Clearwater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Circle, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5.

Clearwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-37 victory against Belle Plaine on the 25th. As for Circle, they will head out on the road to square off against Collegiate on January 31st.
