Preview: Kilgore vs. Tatum
Kilgore is 10-0 against Tatum since March of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Kilgore Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Tatum Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Kilgore is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 198th, while Tatum is ranked 703rd).
On Friday, Kilgore had just enough and edged Carthage out 3-2. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kilgore.
Meanwhile, Tatum's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 5-0 walloping at the hands of Carthage. Tatum has struggled against Carthage recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Kilgore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season. As for Tatum, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9-2.
Kilgore took their win against Tatum when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kilgore since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
