Softball Recap: Wellington Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Wellington extended their postseason success on Thursday against Jupiter. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Wolverines' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Not much got past Tori Payne, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Jupiter off the board. Payne has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carolina Baronci, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jupiter, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.

As of now, neither Wellington nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
