Recap: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. San Marcos Knights
It was a good run, but The Del Norte Nighthawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. The match between Del Norte and San Marcos wasn't particularly close, with Del Norte falling 21-6. Del Norte has struggled against San Marcos recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Jack Schneider threw for 92 yards on 12 of 23 attempts. Ty Olsen was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Ryan Remigio rushed for 36 yards.
San Marcos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Pohl, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tabari Lane and his 95 yards on the ground were also a key factor in San Marcos' victory.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Del Norte to a paltry 147 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to San Marcos' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out 12 times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Del Norte's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for San Marcos, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Marcos also has no future games currently scheduled.
