Basketball Game Preview: Fostoria Redmen vs. Otsego Knights

The Fostoria Redmen will venture away from home to face off against the Otsego Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fostoria has four straight victories, Otsego has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Fostoria beat Cory-Rawson 64-52.

Meanwhile, Otsego had to suffer through a 57-25 loss at the hands of Genoa Area. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while the Comets are ranked 172nd).

Fostoria is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Otsego, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Everything went Fostoria's way against Otsego when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Fostoria made off with a 51-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fostoria since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
