Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cabrillo

Cabrillo had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Santa Maria Saints. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in March.

Cabrillo was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-27, 25-21.

Mahiro De LA Cruz was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave him a new career-high.

Cabrillo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive games.

Cabrillo's record is now 10-6. As for Santa Maria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cabrillo is set to square off against their familiar foe Pioneer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Santa Maria will take on rival Mission College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
