Volleyball Game Preview: Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils vs. Proctor Raiders

The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Proctor Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Nolan Wood. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill came out on top against Rome Free Academy by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to Wood, who had 37 assists and six digs. Wood is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-27, 25-13, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Proctor posted their biggest victory since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Rome Free Academy 3-0.

While Proctor won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Proctor, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill skirted past Proctor 3-2 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Vernon-Verona-Sherrill repeat their success, or does Proctor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
