Basketball Game Preview: Briggs Bruins vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

Briggs is 1-9 against Africentric Early College since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Briggs Bruins will venture away from home to square off against the Africentric Early College Nubians at 7:00 p.m.

Briggs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Friday, they were much more limited against South on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 60-29. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 281st).

Meanwhile, Africentric Early College waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 18 straight wins... but they left with 19. They took down the Cowboys 62-48.

Africentric Early College's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Briggs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Briggs was dealt a bruising 71-42 loss at the hands of Africentric Early College when the teams last played back in January. Can Briggs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
