Baseball Recap: Pittsfield Takes a Loss

Pittsfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Rushville-Industry on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 5-4. The Saukees have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Carter Frazier put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaden Ferguson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Luke Saxe, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pittsfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Rushville-Industry, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Coming up, Pittsfield will take on Carrollton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rushville-Industry, they will challenge West Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
