Baseball Recap: Wells Comes Up Short

Wells extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They fell 6-2 to the Greely Rangers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

As for Greely, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

For Greely's part, they got a great performance from Sylas Almy as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Almy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kyle Soule, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greely, they will host York at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
