Basketball Recap: Masey Raymond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk over Voorheesville

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Voorheesville Blackbirds at home by a 55-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Blackbirds are ranked 169th).

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Masey Raymond, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. What's more, she also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Hayden Wolfe was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Voorheesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk has already played their next matchup, a 61-50 loss against Ichabod Crane on the 14th. As for Voorheesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-34 defeat against Schalmont on the 14th.
